About Hiawatha

At Hiawatha Community School, our K-2 campus, staff are focused on building the foundational skills and habits students need to become inquisitive learners who are kind and inclusive.  At our 3-5 campus,  Howe Elementary School, staff are focused on strengthening the foundation and skills that are fostered at Hiawatha as well as teaching our Huskies to deepen their learning and expand their horizons by analyzing what they are learning and inquiring about the connections to the world around them.

Located in the Longfellow Neiborhood of South Minneapolis, Hiawatha Community School values the richness that comes from a diversity of ideas, experiences, beliefs, and backgrounds interacting within our community.
